Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all well and making good use of the miserable weather (this for my Irish and British readers, who have had nothing but rain lately), to get on with doing indoor things like BEADING! Actually, we had a lovely day here in Kilmeedy on Saturday, and I managed to get a lot of gardening done, but it was the best day in a long time, and only one day. Plenty of vegetables are on the go in the poly tunnel but everything is quite behind because it hasn't been warm. However, we are doing ok for 'cut and come again' salads, and this morning I had my first strawberry. Mmm mmn. Only one mind.
I urge you to grow things for yourselves wherever you possibly can. Most things that you buy in the shops now have been sprayed so many times with chemicals, even things that you might think are doing you good, like salads. Those in the bags are the worst.
Unbelievably, the other day I bought a bunch of bananas, and when I peeled the first one, it smelled only of chemicals, no banana smell at all, and when I took a bite, the same. I gave them to the pigs, although I probably shouldn't have at all, because why give them food full of chemicals either, but having paid for them I didn't want to just throw them away. Which is what I should have done, or even better, take them back to the shop.
So please, grow some salads in pots or boxes or carrier bags if you don't have a garden, but just Do it.
Oh dear. You've had me on my high horse rattling on again. Sorry. I'm meant to be talking about beads aren't I?

I've had a bit of trouble with the Amazing Beads website over the past couple of weeks. Apart from the Home Page, I wasn't able to upload any photo's of new items. It has been really annoying, but my webmaster has sorted it out now, and we are back on track.
There are lots of new beads, gemstones and all sorts for you to find as you are browsing, but I must tell you about a wonderful consignment of vintage beads that I've just taken delivery of, from a very reputable dealer that I work with, in the U.S. There are some gorgeous handmade in the 1950's, distressed (you'd be distressed too if you had waited this many years for someone to love you!), silver foil beads. They are fabulous, even if I say so myself. They come in two sizes, 15mm, and 10mm. They are in different colours too. Then there are some tubular Fimo beads, that are over 25 years old, and (it gets better and better), a huge amount of vintage Czech glass, and EVEN BETTER, vintage Swarovski. This I am still sorting, and there is so much, so keep your eyes peeled on a daily basis in case you miss what I'm putting up.
The best thing of all is that I got all the new beads at a very good price, and I am passing that on to you. I actually think that it will be cheaper to buy the vintage Swarovski than new Swarovski. Although it is all new and unused, but you know what I mean.
And isn't using vintage beads just the best way of recycling too?

Can anyone tell me what on earth is going on with Zak in Emmerdale? OK. It looks like he's got dementia, but who were those two sinister looking suited men that turned up at the pub to see him the other week? and where does he keep getting those wads of money from? It's all dragging on a bit long and I'm getting bored with the storyline.

Now I'll leave you all to your beading and jewellery designs, but before you sit down at your work tables, nip over to www.amazingbeads.net and have a look at all the new items.
Happy Beading,
Sue
